not too sure what you mean here... best time to put in a chip? when it's warm, i guess... dont' know why you'd bother on a V6

see cams? wtf? do you have clear valve covers or something? here's the rule... if your valve covers are wide as hell, you have DOHC. if they're skinny it's sohc. there are exceptions but not too many. i don't know V6's very well or i'd be able to tell you for sure.

Re: ...Mustang

V6s are OHV (over head valve).

the 2v 4.6 is SOHC and the 4v is DOHC (Over Head Cam).

Actually, I remeber hearing that a while back there was a company who made clear plastic valve covers.

Also the V6's were pushrod motors, not OHC motors like DkShadow said.
3.8L base=OHV motor
4.6L GT=SOHC motor
4.6L Cobra=DOHC motor
4.6L Bullitt=SOHC motor
4.6L Mach 1=DOHC motor
5.0L 79-95=OHV motor
5.8LW=OHV motor
5.8L V10 Boss=DOHC motor

that's a novel idea... prolly works fine. i'll just stick with my trick flow tall-style covers =)

shows you how smart i am... i thought that nobody had made a pushrod motor since the early 90s. LS1. duh.

I've seen clear valve covers before they were on a GN that was a show car. Neat until he fired the engine up then they weren't so clear! LoL
