jdm d15

what do u guys think of the jdm d15 vtec? They say theyre rated at 130 hp stock and theyre not too expensive either. 400-500$ on ebay with like 20k-40k miles and come with everything but the transmission and ecu. What do you guys think of it?

I think SOHC is puss, but its good for the money. OutofStep has this swap done, thats his AIM name too, so hit him up.

oh yeah the questions i have are: Can i use a d16 vtec ecu? Are the parts for this engine the same as the 92-95 VX engine (water pump, tune up stuff, alternator, starter etc etc etc)? And what are the specs on this engine, JIC i cant get ahold of outofstep?

Re: jdm d15

Excuse me if I'm wrong, but I thought the specific engine code D15B for a JDM Civic was a non-VTEC engine, pushing about 90hp?

Hopefully not, we've had quite a few of those lately. but hey if you end up gettin that motor, let me know, I wanna see how buying motors from ebay goes, thats one thing I"m still kinda weary of.

nooo... not this one, its like the d15 from the 92-95 vx hatch. as far as i know.... but with more power. if i got that engine i would stomp people around here. I have a few people i wanna put in the dust. But yeah if i get a swap ill probably go with that.

Does anyone know if the vx hatch engine uses the same parts? If not, is there and engine with interchangable parts with it. Im not gonna buy an engine and then have to ship parts from japan or something if something breaks. I already need an axle damnit.
