88 525i electrical probs

ho, i just recently aquired an 88 525i se , auto w/leather interior etc.
bought it after some muppet went into the arse of my 91 520i SE !
had ben sitting for year.. needed some work but had crunched car to potetnially nick bits from. whilst this car had been sitting the drivers door lock got screwdrivered.. and after that the c/locking stopped working then batt went flat.. prob was the doors had been deadlocked b4 it got screwdrivered. .. neway to cut long story short.. have put new batt on car.. driver door still wont unlock.. and c/locking doesnt work either.. neither does windows or sunroof...also the wipers do not work intermitantly, also the interior dash doesnt light up when the headlights are switched on... the car starts ok, headlights work etc.. so does the radio, .. i have checked the fusible link and is early presealed type, no screw/nuts, and seems to be in good condition, but my multimeter is somwewhere else so cant check at mo, looked at fuses in engine bay -all good, then checked those under seat, one of the lot on block that controls c/locking had blown and melted the fuse and some of holder.. replaced but still nowt!!? any ideas anyone? as i said have 91 520 breaking so have spare bits altho engines are diff .. 1 bein 12v one 24v
