Hi,
I have a 2002 Caravan SE with no power options (no power windows or locks or tailgate). It's a real nuisance to open the sliding doors since there is no lock tumbler installed!! You have to open either front door, reach in around the pillar and pull up the lock knob - extremely inconvenient. Also, to open the tailgate you have to use two hands - one hand holds the key in the open position and the other pulls the gate up. If you just turn the key and release, the secondary latch stays locked and the tailgate won't open - what a poor design.
It's my wife's van and before she kills me I want to install power locks and maybe keyless entry. I've noticed that the lock knobs are hard to operate and it occurred to me that perhaps the solenoids are already installed. Does anyone know (before I pull the door panels off) if the wiring and/or solenoids are already in place and just wating for a controller?
Thanks,
Paul
