Where is the reverse-lights switch?

The reverse lights don't work on my '93 Jimmy, manual transmission. The bulbs and fuses are fine, there is power leaving the fuse box but no power reaching the bulb sockets. I'm guessing there is a switch associated with the gear shift but how do I get to it to check it?
