Coilovers and Balljoints

I bought my 98 prelude about a year ago. I took it in for inspection last week and they told me my passenger side upper ball joint is loose and i should have it replaced. They can't do it because I have coilovers on there (they are Skunkworks, they were on the car when I bought it). They told me to go to someone who can deal with them but I'm confused about what the ball joint is and how its related to the coilovers. What really needs to be replaced?

Also, WTF is Skunkworks? I found a crappy little site that sells Skunkworks but I don't know if they are any good.

Do I need to replace the shocks/struts? What is the ball joint BS?
Any help is appreciated. THANKS!!!!
