Need help with a problem

I am having a problem with my Camaro. It is a 1998 6 cylinder 3.8 liter engine. A few weeks ago the check engine light came on, and started blinking only when I would accelerate. I had it checked and it said there was a misfire in cylinder 6. (I just replaced the plugs and wires less than 10,000 miles ago.) My mechanic looked at it, replaced one of the fuel injectors, cleaned the rest and then put a bottle of fuel system cleaner in with a full tank. This seemed to repair the issue. However, about 800 miles later, the light is one again. This time it is detecting a misfire in cylinder 5. It is idling rough and chugging when I accelerate. It seems to surge sometimes too. A bottle of fuel system cleaner made it a little better, but did not resolve the issue. It now will also blink when I am sitting a light. My plan was to replace the fuel filter to see if that helped...any ideas? I don't want to have to take it somewhere and have them play trial and error until they find the problem.

not all the time i have helped my friend replace his pump by cutting an access pannel in the hatch. pulled up the carpet and pulled the pump out and it took like 5 hours! we just put hindges on it anda latch to make it easy access. but as for your problem try the igniton coil or the destributior. but humm thats about all i got for that problem

Re: Need help with a problem

Mine did the same thing, and just by the symptoms I assumed it was misfire, but later found it it was my transmission.
