99 Altima GXE mods??
my friend wants to add some HP to his Altima. ive recommended a CAI, new exhaust piping from the headers back, and a performance ECU/Chip. anything different he could do? hes got about $1700 to play with. in his own words: "i want to be able to spin the tires a little bit", "i want to add about 20HP without making it unreliable" also it should be known that he has 18x7.5 (heavy)chrome rims on his car with a 2" drop. he refers to single canister performance exhausts as "potato guns" so hes looking to put a dual exit pipe on it.

Re: 99 Altima GXE mods??
I've got a 99 Alty GXE
Want to spin tires? Tell him to get a tune up! If its a manual you shouldnt have any problem at all spinning tires, don't take away from the ka24de torque. It's not much for horsepower but it can move some weight thats for sure! The dual pipes aren't possible. Nissan liked to change the Altima alot back in the day :-\.. I guess thats why its as good as it is now? Well If you want some extra horsepower Then yes a CAI would do fine, but CAI's are mainly upper range power, personally I prefer a WAI. (or a modded WAI that has a tube that brings air from below the bumper) For 1700 dollars you can get some OBX headers, JWT popcharger WAI and maybe the most overlooked mod... lightweight pulleys. I'm assuming he doesnt want a muffler. I'm not big on them. All of that should add between 30-35 hp |
