Question Just some questions....

Well, I'm going to be doing my clutch this weekend when I have some free time. When I go down to the auto-parts store, I'm going to probably buy some chrome valve covers, new air cleaner and what not, your full dress up. here's the thing though. When I did my Trans Am, there was a lot less stuff to deal with. The only wires adn what not I can remember were plug wires and some vaccume bullshit. On this carb'ed '86 we got your EGR valve, pcv valve, and countless vaccume lines, sensors and what have you. As for teh pcv valve, can I just do away with it? on the passenger side valve cover, teh breat goes up to the ait cleaner, I'm pretty sure I can do away with that. If i get rid of the pcv, will it be harder to pass emissions? ahhhh, just let me know what you think.....

Re: Just some questions....

dont get rid of the PVC, it is an emissions requirement, and its cheap, so i dont really see the point of taking it off. it alllows the oil vapors and such to exit the engine, and be burned in the engine, rather than vented into the athmosphere. as far as the hoses and wires and such, welcome to modern computer controled, emmisions requirement regulated vehicles. trust me, there is far more potential to those engines as they are, rather than just randomly ripping parts off, and sending them back to the 60's.
