boost controller, boost gauge, and fule pump

hi guys... i am starting to shop for my soon near future upgrade of fule pump, boost controller and boostgauge. currently i've decided to get a manual boost control and 195lph fule pump. can you guys give me any suggestions on what brand and model i should get?... keep in mind that i am on a tighter budget. so i don't need any fancy shinny expensive ones. ie. i know that there're a lot of fancy boost guage out there that costs $200 or more. so all i need is something simple and gets the job done. so soon as i get my tax return back from uncle same i can start ordering them. thank you

Re: boost controller, boost gauge, and fule pump

Up man I just bought a SPC boost gauge from THENEONEDGE.com for only $30 and it changes 7 diff. colors and looks awesome.I also suggest the JoeP boost controller from http://joepmbc.com/ Its not fansy but you can paint it and most important it dose the job and its cheap.

I find that the autometer boost only guages are right on, and they are about 35 bucks. The boost/vac ones are always questionable from any brand, IMO.

I can't recommend DSMtrader enough for prices, but if you want brand new parts, check out the parts catalog on DSMtuners and shop for prices by item. Good luck.

Re: boost controller, boost gauge, and fule pump

that SPC gauge is off the hook!!! i think i might get a gauge pod alonge wit it the one that supports two gauges. so the question now is, what should i get for the other gauge. oil pressure or water temp?

and those joeP boost controllers look pretty good too . thanks guys.

Re: boost controller, boost gauge, and fule pump

IMO I like the Hallman boost controller, heard very good things about it and I purchased mine off of ebay for $54. For a boost gauge, I like the autometer I have. If you want another gauge I would recommend the EGT gauge by autometer. For the fuel pump, walbro make a good 190 and they go for $85 off ebay brand new.

Re: boost controller, boost gauge, and fule pump

yea i got the oil press gauge for my other gauge but in a few months r so the will be releasing a EGT gauge and a A/F gauge so if you want to save your money and jst put a black sticker over the other hole for now. The JoeP gauge is great and the personal service he gives is great, and i've heard nothing but positive things about his boost gauge.

Re: boost controller, boost gauge, and fule pump

A link was just put up on here to http://www.autosportz.com/accessorie...utotechnic.htm for the gauges. The are very nice.
Hey 95GSXracer, what's wrong with the boost/vaq gauges? I was gonna get the Autometer 20vaq/30 psi. Also, I really dont know about this stuff but most people seem to get the Walbro 255 lph pump.

i have a autometer 30vac(mine hits 25vac on highway)/30psi boost gauge and its works great. The walbro 255(is what i have) is to big if you dont have a fuel reg. and if you dont have a fuel reg your car will get flooded with fuel when your boost kicks in, trust me it happend to me before i fix my fuel reg(it was all the way open), but that is my

Re: boost controller, boost gauge, and fule pump

question, i was just looking at TheNeonedge's boostgauge again. why does the bottom half of the gauge goes from 0 to 30 while top says 0-20. how does it work. ? does that mean there should be two needles in which one goes up accordingly for the PSI and on goes down for the vaq?.. what is vaq? how is it different from psi?

Re: boost controller, boost gauge, and fule pump

hey will the wallbro 255lph fule pump fit into my gst? or does it require some extra mod kit. i am looking at the 190lph and 255lph wallbro fule pump on DSMparts' site rightnow and they're both priced at $110. the only difference is the 190lph one is sold out.

the 255 with fit, everything you need is in the kit(besides the tools), but you need the Fuel Pressure Regulator so you can stop some of that fuel coming in, or else you will get way to much fuel. Sence your on a budget i would go with the 195 because i dont think you need a Fuel Pressure Regulator (a nice one with the gauge that i need)

Re: boost controller, boost gauge, and fule pump

You dont' need a fuel pump bigger than a 190 unless you are running low 11's or faster. If you get the 255 you will need the adj. fuel pressure regulator and probably a fuel controller wouldn't help either.
