Thumbs down temp gauge and fuel pump?

my car runs really well except for to lil problems.when iam just driving around my temp gauge just shoots up out of no where and stays above Hot for a few minutes then goes back down..its starting to do this alot more and iam wondering if its bad for the engine thinking its hot when it really isnt... could it be a ground? also i just put a new engine in my car (d16a6) and every since then my fuel pumps been acting up.. if iam drivin my car for 20 + and i shut the car off if i go to restart it the fuel pump dosnt kick in . and i have to tun the key on and off about 15 times before it works?? could this be the fuel pump goin .. or iam wondering if i damaged the relay cause i had no grounds and the motor the first time i started it and it made weird sounds ..??? any help would be appricatied

Re: temp gauge and fuel pump?

the temp problem could be simple..when you put in the fluids before starting your motor did you bleed the coolant system? it could spike every once in a while from air being in it. since the air heats up really fast your temp would shoot up. ive been workin on my legend and you can massage the coolant tubes to coax the air out from the radiator cap. then you have to do somthin like turn your heat on so that the valves open up and itll let any trapped gasses escape. should be some writeups on it somewhere. could even go to the junkyard and swap in some newer coolant sensors..all hondas and acuras use the same sensors and theyre pretty much all right next to the dizzy..i was at the junkyard a few weeks ago and snagged three off of some other hondas..they didnt even charge me cuz its a small part
