I know it's not new to anyone, but why do girls feel that they must find some half-assed excuse to not have a relationship? This is the last excuse I heard:

"Right now, I haven't seen him around to break up with him, but you're a nice person to "hang out" with."

What I found out: They haven't spoken to each other since the 3rd week after they started dating. The guy went to the army about 2 months ago. It pays to know someone's sister(btw, we all work at the same place). So I've decided that I'd be nice enough to give her 2 weeks to make up her mind(this is highly unlike me). So far, my decision ranges at:

1. Fuck you; I want nothing to do with you
2. We can still be friends
3. I still have feelings for you
4. I still have feelings for you, but I'm gonna find a girl who actually show. some interest in me.

Right now; it seems like #s 2 & 4 sound perfect, but at the same time I'm confused as hell. This weekend might as well be one of those hang at the mall and find a hot chick weekends.

Any thoughts or opinions on this?

Go with number 2 and 4. Unfortunately for you, you seem to have fallen into the "friend" category, which is instant death to most hopes for a relationship beyond friends. Don't worry dude, it happens to the best of us.

ahhh the friend catagory.... I have never understood this. What is it about a strange guy that a girl barely knows or that a girl has known for only a few days or a week or what ever. Also what is it about a girl who hooks up with a guy who is leaving for some kind of milatary Basic training in 4 days? Comeon, they gotta know it just to get them in bed and just leave them there..... I don't get it. I had a girl that I took on a couple of dates/hung out/just all around had a good time, well one night I called her up to see if she wanted to go to dinner then just cruise and find something to do ( I know it sound lame but, she liked to cruise and find stuff to do) and she was like, " No I can't, I just met this guy and we are dating now..... well I got to go bye. What the hell? We had been hangin around eachother for a month doing shit together, and just hangin out. She knew I liked her to, she knew that about 2 weeks after I had met her. The guy is like 29 years old and a citgo manager to. She is 20 and in school at the same college as me. . I don't understand.

We men specie have to understand that "WOMEN SPECIE" have a whole different mind to deal with. They are fickle minded. They are so hard to understand.

When women say one thing...they mean another thing. So we, unfortunately have to deal with it. Ive dealt with my better half for 2 and 1/2 year now and still growing strong.

P.S. No offense to any of the women out there. Just my 2cents.

Thanks for the thoughts and understanding guys. It's gonna be a hard decision to make, but hopefully I'll make the right choice.

Lets put it this way. A woman who is a friend may become more then a friend later on. If it doesn't work out, you may return to being friends. A woman who you've had a relationship with (more then a friend) but were not friends before hand, is highly unlikely to become a friend if it doesn't work out.

It may not sound reasonable, but its reality.

I say option 2 is the right answer for you, but it also needs the same justification as option 4...

Have you asked her out on a date?

If so, and her reply is what you posted above then what this sounds like is maybe she likes you, but she probably likes the other guy more, so she'll hold out for him for a while, but she doesn't mind keeping you around to take her out and stuff... maybe.

If not, you may have already put yourself on the friendship tip.

Either way, She's not your best option. Just go meet a dozen other laidies and ask for their phone numbers. You'll feel better.

But, as a counterpoint to Yogs' post, you should never decide to be friends with a woman only because you like her, just in the hopes the friendship will transmogrify into a romantic relationship later. Be her friend, and go date other women in the meantime...

Heh. I think i am in the same boat as you. I just told this girl how i felt about her, and i keep getting from her was "I dunno, hes a really nice friend, but i just dont like him like that." Time to move on.

Yeah I understand This girl I liked told me she didn't want a relationship right now I was like ok. Then 2 days later I find out she going out with another guy, I was like WTF.I'll never figure out girls

"She didn't want a relationship right now" = She didn't want a relationship with you.

Go find someone else. When a woman likes you, she'll make it easier for you to make your move.

thats what really pisses me off about women, they try to hide their feelings and make it seem like they arent the bad one. i want a girl friend but i dont like the emotional part. probably cuz the last girl i hung out with and liked said she would go out with me later and im like, okay, then she goes and dates other guys. i guess i got caught in the trap. and then she gets pissed at me cuz i got pissed at her for lying. come on now, im going to be fine with you lying to me.

Well thanks for all the opinions, thoughts and suggestions; and yes I asked her out weeks ago.

On a better note: We are now going out(Started Friday night). All I can say is that it took her long enough to make up her mind. Thanks for all the help guys.
