Back-up lights won't work
Hey all, I'm having a problem with my back-up lights and I read a post from someone who had the same problem with their '97. They said that they thought it was the back-up switch. 2eyefishclaw responded that it was on the tranny. 2eye, if possible could you tell me exactly where it is? Is it easy to get to without pulling the transmission? PLEASE say yes.
As always thanks in advance for any help y'all can give me.

Re: Back-up lights won't work
The last time I replaced the backup light switch was on a 86 Isuzu pickup. If your vehicle is a standard, it should be located on top of the transmission, where the shifter enters the top of the case. When put into reverse, the shifter activates the switch. If you have an auto sorry I can't help.

Thanks for the info, I found the back-up switch and replaced it, but the lights still don't work.
Does anyone have any other ideas as to what it could be?

Step one would be to hot wire the supply side of the circuit at the switch. This will tell you on which side of the switch you will need to chase down the problem. Did you check the bulbs and fuse?
