Unhappy 1996 Olds Cutlass Supreme cruise control

1996 Olds Cutlass Supreme cruise control problem.
How do you get the tape to move out about ONE INCH from the cruise control module. I believe that if I put power to one of the module terminals the motor will turn. Which terminal? I don't want to burn the board. There is not enough adjustment in the cable to get what I need.

I just replaced the intake manifold gaskets on a 1996 Olds Cutlass Supreme. When I removed the cruise control cable from the throttle body the cable pulled into the cruise control module and now is too short to connect to the cam at idle. It holds the cam at about 3000 rpm. Any suggestions?
