'00 Civic cd player into a '97

Hey all,
Does anyone know if a factory cd player from a '00 Civic would fit and work in a '97? I recently put an Alpine in my '00, and i'd like to put the factory cd player into my mom's '97, which had its aftermarket cd player stolen. Thanks.

why not just slide it in there to see if it'll fit?
