i think they have about the same power numbers, not sure on weight differences
so i think its down to weight and driver

This is easy, the 2004 Civic SI sucks compared to the last generation Civic SI, as far as performance goes. I mean I like the look of the knew Civic SI, the hatrchback styling, the interior, and the shifter is pretty sweet. But performance, the Civic SI, has proven to be slower, and all around sub par to the previous generation SI. I really think it's about time for Honda to bring over the Civic Type R.

Yeah the Civic 2000 SI is a better car all around.

Better handling. Beter 0-60mph and 1/4mile. Better looks.

But the brakes are not better I believe.

Yea the previous Si is much better performance wise than the new one...I mean it went up .4 liters but retained the same HP...and I think got a lil torque but got heavier...so it sucks compared to the old one

How about with turbo, or just bolt on's. DOes the '00 still outpreform.

I'm not sure what you are asking, if your asking which responds the best to aftermarket modifications? Then I'd have to say that it's close, they both respond relatively the same.

But if you ended up bolting the same turbo to both cars...remember that the '00 Si...is about 150-200 lbs lighter than the '04 Si
