I have seen both in action and this would be one of the few truck races (stock trucks) that would be fun to watch, i know the Dakota has a 5.9 litre engine, and teh Ford is SVT mod, which in its self is impressive. Which do you think would prevail, and why?

The Ford SVT lightning would win due to the fact that it is the official fastest factory truck in the world!

Well unfortunatly the lightning would win. The Dakota R/T is a great truck, I should know I am the proud owner of a 1999 Flame Red Club cab R/T. The only reason I belive that the R/T would not win is becuase of the 6.something psi supercharger on the lightning, stick one on a dakota and see who would win it. I am sure that a dakota would.

i really like both.. they both offer some good things about it, but in the end i would go with the lightning .. they look better, perform better, and ya can't go wrong with 360hp in a pickup..

OK first of all cameron is right. it is a pointless argument because the lightining has a SUPERCHARGER! (which i have heard wear out quickly) I am also a proud owner of a 98 black dakota R/T extended cab. oh yeah Brabus, the lightining isn't the fastest production truck anymore, check out the Dodge Ram SRT/10! mmm oh yeah, no supercharger.

The Lightning of course. Back when the R/T's first came out I raced my friend in his dads single cab and beat him. I was hardly impressed after that.
