project jeep cherokee help (pics)

well, just got an extra set of DUB CITY 24" rims and am about to redo my old 97ish cherokee.

tried looking for some references but didn't have too much luck.

The shell is red injection molded plastic. I am just curious as to what other colors were available for the cherokee? The interior is currently a semi gloss grey, but i was thinking of redoing everything in a darker grey, or even black.

I'm leaning towards a champagne colored body, but im not sure yet. I already have a gunmetal civic and am planning to do my impreza in a graphite color.

here are my choices for shell colors:

Champagne
Black (goes w/ the bling bling rims)
Dark Red, similar to the sedona red pearl on the 2000-2002 2.5 RS
dark grey

the thought of throwing a CF hood is lingering as well.

help me out!!

I like the dark red...maybe a pearl.
A CF hood...Well the point of putting on a CF hood is to reduce the weight over that of the steel hood, but the Cherokee is a bit of a lost cause on the weight reduction front. But it is all about style isn't it. LOL
Smooth the trim off and get it a little lower, that should help.

thanks for the tip, i did mock up the rims last night, im not slamming it like those DUB city trucks, just low enough to get rid of the gap. The CF hood idea is just a thought, since im getting the decal anyway for my impreza and integra (and possibly toyota truck) i might as well do the jeep hehe.

anybody know where i can pick up some alcadII for cheap?

Re: project jeep cherokee help

The red definately.
On the rim issue, I have seen many Jeep cherokee and grand cherokee on big chrome rims. the problem is that I have never seen one that looked nice. Withoug lowering they look cheap b/c they sit up too high and jeeps just aren't made to lower.
don't get me wrong i love a suv with big ass chrome rims on, but i personally think that jeeps should either be stock or if you are going to put aftermarket rims a nice polished aluminum 4x4 rim looks nice.
But i'll wait to see how you work your magic b/c the scale world differs greatly from the real world andy you might be the man to change my mind.

i am doing the tamiya grand cherokee with some dub city spinners. but sence the tamiya one has a working suspention, i just trashed all the suspention pices and used sheet styrene to make the bottom flat. well back on topic, i think you should paint it the dark red, and if you want a cf hood go for it.

Re: project jeep cherokee help

hehe well looks like red is winning!

don't mind all the bits hanging out, like i said, i found this old thing in a box so parts were missing already. I plan on scratch building some dual exhaust instead.

as for the 4x4...oh well hehe, i've always wanted to see a new DUB city model..guess my cherokee is the winner =P

i did consider getting the spinners, but these rims were free so i decided to do these.
