tranny fluid
I have a 2000 Grand Caravan. The tranny uses ATF 4 fluid. Since that fluid is not available at two auto parts store in my area, I'm wondering if ATF 3 can be used instead?

Re: tranny fluid
Dodge only recommends their own brand which is "Mopar" to be used in their tranies. So you must be able to get it at the dealership. Their tranies are the worst in the industry and they are famous for trying to get out of doing their own warrentee servise. If you happen to have a good working trany don't use a non recommnded fluid. You may be sorry for it later. Ride On, digimon

No, No, No, Do "not" put ATF-3 in a 2000 model year van...2000 vans use ATF-4 only, get it at the D/C dealer.
