Wierd PS fluid and Tranny fluid.

What's with the wierd specs for the tranny and power steering fluid?

I found this in another Hyundai forum. "No no no, bad idea. ATF+3 is Chrysler fluid. You need SPIII fluid. Big difference. The SPIII I have not found in the aftermarket yet. The fluids that are universal that say they work on all makes and models, do not. We have replaced several transmissions after another repair shop has put in the wrong fluid, or this so called "unversal" fluid. SPIII is available from the dealer. Little steep on price as it lists for $5.92/quart."

So I guess KIA takes the SPIII fluid and I find it interesting they have no filter.

hyundai and mitsu also use sp3. you can get it at a chrysler dealer because some of them have mitsu engines/trans in them.

it costs around 3.50 a quart

gone through so many cars i can't keep track. all i know is i have a gsr swap on the floor of the garage that is going in a teal boxy hatch.
