open hatch?

anybody ever make an open trunk on a hatch back? i was thinking of doing it on my integra, but sure if it would be possible to look good, cuz i want everything opened up kinda like a show car.

anybody ever done, this or ever thought ouf doing this?

sorry if its been asked before, i dont check this side of AF as often as others

hinges on hatches are hard as hell to for me at least most of thet hatches have the hinges on glass

some models come with openable hatches..........i said some like mini vans etc.... dont know about cars

my Aoshima accord estate came with the opening hatch as do some of their VIP cars

as for other cars opening the panel is easy enough using flyonthewalls how to . as for hinges depends on weather they need 2 be functioning ?

The hardest part will be cutting the hatch, as the edges are very thin. Very careful cutting and many, many light passes with a knife blade is the only way to go. If you ever look at an Integra hatch, you will notice that there is a very thick frame along the edges of the hatch, around the glass. If you place the hinges (like the ones bigfrit is using) on the very edges of the opening, you can easily hide the hinges in the hatch's frame. That would be a great project! Make sure you make a progress thread for it!

well i started cutting the hatch out, but that thing is a bitch could be a day or two before its out, ill start a progress after i get some pics
