Upgrading non-turbo to turbo
I have a 92 Talon, 5spd that I picked up for $1000, its in great shape. The bad thing is that it is non-turbo. What do I need to make it a turbo. I want to get a 16g to start with, if you could let me know I would appreciate it. Thanks

Re: Upgrading non-turbo to turbo
Hey, I know Hahn makes turbos for the NT 2gs which is the 420a Chrysler engine and they might make one for the 1st gens, I think the NT 1st gens have the same 4g63 block as the turbos do, you might be able to put a stock turbo system on it.

Re: Upgrading non-turbo to turbo
But I think you would really be wasting your money and time. If you want a performance car get one of the turbo AWD's its 10 times the car, really. If I were you I would just keep it unmolested and reliable. good luck

I've spent years working on eclipse's and talons. I'll tell ya like this. If you want a turbo in a non-turbo 1st gen. Then you need to mostly just strip from a turbo or order. The turbo 1st gen is the same as the non-turbo. Main difference is that the turbo has a turbo a turbo intake and minor other things. Just make sure when you go through its all from or for a 91-94[1st gen] talon/eclipse. You can get that stuff from a talon/eclipse/ or plymouth laser. They are all the same. You cannot use and parts for a 2nd gen talon/eclipse because the engines are not compatiable. I've been in both engines. So that should get you off on the right foot. Just make sure you don't try and use 2nd gen parts, cause it would be a waste of time, unless you get it from a 2nd gen turbo talon/eclipse. Because turbo 2nd gen and all 1st gen have a 4g63 engine in it.
