2000 Mercedes CLK DTM

Been cooking this one in my lab for a while... some of you have seen prior thread on it.

Tamiya model, PPG Ultra Clear hard dry gloss on top of decals. Buttom front lip is Tamiya Light Blue mettallic.. pretty close match to the kits decals.

body:

messed up on the rear lights outline a little

all glass is in:

wheels: Duplicolor Cast aluminum with center lug nuts picked out in bronze with anodised aluminum center lock (red for right side and blue for left)

brakes:

seat with seat belt harness. Experimented with new technique of flocking the seat to make it look like alacantra or ultra suede.

Backing plate in CF and steering wheel in alcantra and CF... not finished yet.

ok.. thats it so far.

Re: 2000 Mercedes CLK DTM

Very nice work, indeed! I would have liked to see more and better pics of your seat and steering wheel... Is the flocking working well? I'm very interesting in finding a way to represent alcantra...
And thanks for sharing!
About the replies: maybe most of us are speechless seing such a good model...

Re: 2000 Mercedes CLK DTM

I will take better photos of the steering wheel and seat. I think flocking is working prety weel to represent short nap of alcantra.

When I saw that at a glance, it looked like a stock benz punching through the racecars body, but then I realized it wasnt.
