Beta Motors

I've been looking for parts for the '03 I4 and keep seeing things for the 01 Beta motor... doesn't the 01 and the 03 I4 use the same motor?

all block components are the same. there are some differences in the head though i believe. and also the fact the beta 1 is MAF and the beta 2 is MAP.

Nisco is right that there isn't a "kit" on the market at the moment however I do know there are some private engineers that can make one for you. I would like to try to steer you away from super though... the only advantage to super vs turbo is that there is no spool up time however you lose hp in order to gain the hp (it takes hp away from the engine in order to turn the super chargers turbine) and spool up time on the kind of small turbo that you'd use on a tiburon is negligible. In other words, Turbo is WAY better for our car.

And nisco... as far as your comment that anybody that got the 4 cyl either doesn't care about tuning or is going turbo.... in about 4 months I will be pushing over 300 bhp through my shitty lil' 4cyl... I'd like to see the aluminum V6 block make that claim and follow through with it.... when I get it there I'll post my dyno and timeslips on here.

Re: Beta Motors

hahahahahah
thats so funny
300bhp
and you have an auto i4
youll lose alot in the crank...
youll be pushing maybe 250 or up alil...
a supercharger for teh v6... is up to 247... now over 275 without a public dyno slip....
so your shitty lil i4 is still gonna be shit compared to any one of the superchargers i pick....
ripp mods... highest amount of hp they can go with stock internals...
shooting over 250
nextgenmotorsports.... his cars puttin 275... abd hes shootin for over 300 his car is the test dummy....
so whatver his car puts down so do teh other cars....
alpine stage 2 if it ever comes out....

but id like ot know which company you decide on going with when you get your turbo....
ohh wai t i saw you want gude.....
have fun with that
how many stages they have?.. and what do they intail?

Re: Beta Motors

ok i did a lil searchin around for GUDE stuff and info
and well here it is.. and these are prices...
The retail cost is in black, next to the discounted price available through FLUX Performance, which is shown in RED.
Turbo Kits: $3150 - 2550
Works for MAP based 2.0l Beta II engines.
Includes:
- Chromed Turbo 4-1 Header
- TD04h Turbo (efficient through18psi)
- Intercooler
- J&S Spark Management System (included at the time)
- Chromed & Mandrel Bent Piping
- Modified Hyundai Injectors
- All Clamps and Fittings Necessary for Install
Options:
- Blow Off Valve: $220 - 185
- T3/T4 Turbo: $400 ~ Sorry, he cant discount this option at all.
- Straight Pipe: 180 - 160 ~ This will replace the second cat, and is for off road use only, GUDE accepts no liability for violations of local and state emission laws.
Applications and Info:
Works for 5-speed Tiburon’s and Elantra’s with MAP based engines. As far as an automatic goes, the automatic tranny should be able to hold the 200 HP at 6.5psi without any problems, although, the figures may be lower due to higher percentage of drivetrain loss. If you experience problems though, turn down the boost.
The purchase of an AFC is recommended due to the kit wanting to run rich at altitude, but at sea level it performs awesome. Please be open to ask questions, I will contact him and ask any questions that I don't know the answer to. You may see a dramatic increase in performance and efficiency with the use of a fuel tuner.

Head Kits (Turbo and NA) for I4: Retail: $1650 - $1350
Includes:
Core Deposit: $500 (refunded when old head is sent to GUDE)
- Bored Throttle Body w/ Oversized Butterfly
- Ported Intake Manifold
- Ported & Polished Head
- Racing Valve Grind
- Cam Grinding (Turbo or NA)
- High Compression Radius Chamber (Low Compression for Turbo Application)

OHH AND ADAM... READ THIS!

so have fun with your gude system...
seems to be a waste of money if youre gettin a turbo thatll put less then 200 for you...
im guessin you jus wanna get a turbo so oyu can say you have turbo... instead of actually gettin a good set up

now gude is good their products are quality....
but seems worthless

nisco, automatic trannies are better for dragging. instant shifts.

just get the thing sent off to level 10 for a build up. it will be costly, but worth it. or just swap the tranny out, it shouldnt be to hard.

Re: Beta Motors

auto trannies are good i know... but you lose power in the drive train!
...thats where all the power gets lost...
so his 3 grand+ system will be absolute crap

the faster shifts would make up for the lost power. and also knowing almost exactly what you will run will help bigtime when bracket racing.
