Re: ecu swap

Try using an ecu out of an '86-'87 Integra instead. This ecu will plug directly into your wiring and is designed for better performance than the SI ecu. Just be sure to get an '86 or '87 Integra ecu because starting in '88 all fuel injected Hondas/Acuras use a crank sensor so these will not be compatable with your '86 SI.

Re: ecu swap

CRX bandit,

Here is a link that you might find helpful.

I'm not trying to discourage you from asking questions, we're all here to help each other out, but many of your questions have already been answered and this is a link to some of the more common questions.

Also, swapping in the Integra ECU alone will not increase HP. You also need the Integra injectors and a throttle body that has been modified to allow for more air flow or construct an adapter plate that will allow you to mount an '86-'89 Integra throttle body to your intake plenum. A cold air intake, header and a low back pressure exhaust system will also help. Even after all this modification HP gains are marginal at best. The best way to increase HP is to swap in a different motor like the D16A1, D16A1-ZC, or there are kits available from Hasport that will let you swap in any B-series motor.

Here is another website that you might find helpful.
