Re: Throttle Body

i think stock for the 3.6 is 65mm and 70-75mm for the SC. i'd go with a SVO 70mm, cause at 75 you risk running air rich, which will cause a bogging/delayed throttle response due to lack of fuel/spark (IMHO).

Re: Throttle Body

the 70mm SVO is still a viable option for the 4.6 since it does flow more cfm over stock (SVO is swirl polished, while stock is not and = 70mm, restricted by various MAF and Intake design factors). The best option IMO is the BBK 75mm throttle body that I have; It's for 96+ mustangs but fits fine on 94-95 tbirds.

Problem is: I had to remove mine because I'm waiting for a Chip upgrade. Throttle Body's and MAFs won't work properly until you program the comp to know they're "there" so to speak. I ran it with it on, and it does flow A LOT more air and improve high mph performance, but for daily stop-n-go driving NOT good. Internally there's much more air than fuel to burn so combustion lag is horrible.

NOTE: for NA engines, 75mm is plenty big enough, and in unison with a larger (73,76,77,80mm) MAF, will do wonders for performance. The best combo would be an SVO 70mm + 73mm MAF, or a more radical BBK 75mm + 76,77,80MM MAF.

Re: Throttle Body

Raven has a very good point. If you change ANYTHNIG between the air filter itself, and the TB (including the TB) you can REALLY screw up the MAF reading.

On these MAF equipped Fords, the MAF is the "god" sensor. The EEC uses the MAF data pretty much over everything else to base it's outputs on. Other sensors have a definate input, but the MAF is what will screw stuff up the quickest.... or fix it.
