What does it take to beat a GSR?

what engine would you need to beat a GSR stock? For the CRX or the hatchback.

i used to beat gsr's in my old crx with a dohc zc p/p head, h/i/e and cams. not by much but still.

the question is what engine couldn't u use to beat a gsr stock? almost any engine could be built up to beat a gsr, now some engines are definatley better than others, but i would say any b series engine would be pretty easy to do it with

how about if i used my d16y8? lol. There's this kid in my school that just got a GSR, and he blew the head driving in 3rd gear at 90 MPH. He's one of those kid's that just know "VTECH". So what i want to do is find a way to make my d16y8 beat that GSR when he buys another GSR head. He doesn't know anything about cars. I doubt he's a good driver either.

I say throw a DIY turbo kit on the ZC. I pieced one together for $300. You could deff beat him then.

Got the mani, TDO5 turbo with internal wastegate, SS braided lines, downpipe, and 450 cc injectors from a dude off of h-t for $200, baught a SMC+ for $75 brand new. Had a SMIC already. (Which I will sell if you want it since I have a FMIC now) All I had to have was some charge pipes. Which if your going low boost you don't have to have mandrel bent. I just traded my whole setup for a Y8 p/p head, oversized valves, new dual valve springs, and valve spring retainers. I would have let you have it for $300 shipped. I posted it on here, but had not hits. In my opinion GSR's are pieces of shit. My friend drives a 90 integra with a stock engine with a 12 lb aluminum flywheel, short ram/cold air intake, act stage 1 clutch, custom rear section exhaust, racing cat and he beats gsr's all the time. He beat them before he got his rear section, clutch, and flywheel put in. He would beat them by like 2 or 3 car lengths and keep in mind his clutch was so worn that it slipped even if he didnt give it was when he shifted. People with GSR's think theyre so great becuase they have VTEC. I have a friend with a POS bone stock 4 door saturn that stayed even with a built up GSR all the way through the race.

come on with the "carlength" bullshit. to beat somebody by "2 carlengths" you would have to fucking rape them. especially with a clutch that slips horribly, there is no way. a 90 integra weighs basically the same as a GSR, which has 40 more horsepower & 1400 rpm

as far as what it takes to beat a GSR integra with a civic hatch or CRX, not much. when i was at KCIR drag strip, i saw a bone stock GSR integra consistantly runing 15.5. a sohc vtec with bolt ons in a light enough car could probably beat a stock GSR.
