94 shift boot
I'm trying to put a stereo in my '94 s (5spd) and i cant detach the shift boot from the shift knob so i can lift the console up to get to the stereo. I was following the instructions from www.carstereohelp.com and it said to release the clips holding the boot to the knob. I cant find any clips or anything and just pulling on it doesnt work. Anyone know how to get it off?

Re: 94 shift boot
I just did the stereo in my 94 it was easy though because the previous owner put a aftermarket knob on it but i used to have a 3rd gen with stock boot and i think its the same but all you have to do is pull down on the boot it should be two plastic clips one in front and one on the back

there should be a rubber band or a wire tie that holds the boot to the knob. You have to cut it if it's the wire tie and then the knob will separate from the boot.
