Shift boot to shift knob

I just bought a Prelude and it has a Momo aftermarkt shift knob. However, the metal ring at the top boot is not connected with the shift knob so it slips down and off the bottom of the knob at times. Is there a way I should be able to connect them? Thanks.

Re: Shift boot to shift knob

It sounds like you may have to make a custom piece to hold the shit knob to the boot. I would find a thin nut that threads on the shaft and put a washer like part on it that would go thru the boot. Then, when you tighten the knob, the boot will stay with the knob.
