orangi peel

edit:
ive decided to ask a few q's here, instead of opening a new thread
1. can primer have op? and if it does....... should i just paint over it, or sand it out?

2. and if i get orange peel, that i can't feel...., should ipaint over it, or sand it (this is paint not primer.)

3. tamiya colour is lacquer, automotive paint is lacquer, why MUST u prime with automotive but not with tamiya colour, when they are same types of paint?

4. how do i tell if white primer has covered white model? (i can't see ANY DIFFERENCE in texture...)

5. how do i tell if primer has seeped into panel lines enough (so they don't melt when i spray automotive paints)

6. i sprayed matt black onto unprimed, no other oils (maybe my own body oil, but not likely) peice of plastic....

it cracked..... why?

Yes.

Tamiya spray is synthetc lacquer, which is formulated for plastic model, while automotive paint is not.

I can tell. You just have to train your eyes.

Two or three coats of primer is enough. No visual inspection necessary.

Because you didn't prime it.

Re: orangi peel

The primer has to be smooth, or it will effect the top coat. So if your getting OP then you have to sand it smooth, and change your spraying technique.

Itwill not be the same color white I am sure and being primer it will have a flatter sheen. Have you actually sprayed it and can't tell or are you just asking!?! GO spray and take a look

Re: orangi peel

Why not use a coat of grey primer and THEN a coat of white primer?!
