I'm compiling all the information about Firebirds and Camaros
What are the differences between the 1968 Firebird and 1968 Camaro and all other Firebirds and Camaros? What specifally does a Firebird have a Camaro doesn't and what does a Camaro have a Firebird doesn't? And what one do you like more?

Re: Difference between Firebird and Camaro
have you gone to this little essay article?
http://www.rajuabju.com/literature/f..._vs_camaro.htm there are so many little details that are different between the two cars. of course the 3rd and 4th gens are easily distinguishable because of the pop up headlights on the firebird/TA vs. the Camaros fixed lights. in terms of engines i believe its in the article. im sure someone else on this board could tell you more about the engines than me. hope i helped bye |

I am new to this forum, and I want to give you my tiny bit of insight. I have a 67 Firebird ragtop that I joined this forum to get advice on.
First, the basics. My Firebird is longer than a 67 camaro. The front end is about 6" farther out. Of course, there is the obvious engine differences. The Firebird featured a 6 cylinder sprint version, which was supposedly a very nice and nimble car. The Firebird 6 was an OHC engine with a 4 barrel. Camaro 6 cylinder was the basic crap engine. The Firebird sprint had factory traction bar on the right side. The Chevy used the C-clip rear, while Pontiac used a bolt in design. Transmission were the same, I think except for the starter being on the other side. I think Firebirds were more expensive when new, although now you get far more for a Camaro. Just a few things I noticed between my car and my nephews 67 Camaro. Ken |
