I havent done it, but i have an old article from Turbo where a shop built a 593 whp full interior street civic like that.

1994 civic Si
H23 w/ H22 head
Turbonetics t78 w/ air 2 air intercooler
96 lb-hr injectors
Accel DFI, HKS racegate, A'PEXi AVC-D boost controller

593 hp at the wheels

This is a FULLY built engine (crower rods, je pistons, full head build) at 23 psi on high octane.

Its possible, but must be done right.

Re: has anyone actually done this??

h22a.org forums is a really good site for info on it, just ask there and you'll get an answer. There is a guy on there who is running boost on a h23 block with an h22 head; he's got 600+hp already and he's still tuning it.

Re: has anyone actually done this??

Why don't you just buy a H23A vtec motor? Hard to find, but will save you some trouble.

Re: has anyone actually done this??

are you sure that they didnt just swap the h22 head on that accord wagon? like i said im not calling bs, but ive never even heard of the h23 (vtec). if there is such a thing, i want one, the usdm h23 is a great motor. im just trying to figure out why honda would make the h23 a vtec engine in the first place...i mean they have the h22a and the h22a4 offered on the 92-96 and the 97-01 models respectively. and then the f22 (non-vtec) on the accord. where the h23a (with vtec) would fit in is where im stumped. see what i mean? anyway. ill do some research myself...

Re: has anyone actually done this??

Why did they stop making the B17A? Why did they make a 4wd Ferio? Why ask why? Honda has made some weird combos, and motors over the years, maybe it was an experiment that they decided was too expensive, or just plain usless. Call em and ask.

Re: Re: has anyone actually done this??

well, just got off the phone with honda and.....

just kidding, of course. the whole thing just didnt add up in my mind, but as youve said it makes sense that the motor isnt heard of often...probably because it wasnt worth honda making it in the first place.

s'all about tha benjamins.. probably the same reason they quit selling the Prelude, they were competing with themselves with the Accord.
