92 Jetta two electrical problems
Hi Again,
I figure I'm on a role, already got an ansnwer back for one of my earlier questions today. I have two electrical problems that I'm not sure if I should just let slide or fix. 1. Last winter (Tail end) my defroster switch in the dash stopped working. I hit a local junk yard and removed about 9 of them of ruffly the same year jetta's. I tried all of them and none worked and not knowing informed the Junkyard owners that none of them worked, they proclaimed to me that they rarely die. I continue tinkering with it one day to find that when I play around with the wiring (after removing my stereo) the switch would work intermitently. I taped the wires up nice and solid and it worked fine up until two months ago. I tried playing with the wiring again and nothing happens. Is there a fundamental wiring problem or is the switch now actually finished? 2. The clock in my dash has a mind of it's own. The light in it goes on and off when ever it feels like it. It works great a night when the light does come on and irritates me everytime I look down to see it off. Am I going to have to pull out my dash (which looks very complicated compared to other cars I've owned) or is it something simple I can adjust or replace? Thanks all, Andre. |
