323 E3 engine

I'm having a 1985 323 and planning to modify it for dirt track racing. It 's engine is E3 (1300cc, 8 valve) and finds that the pulling power is very less compared to many other similler Mazdas on the track. Can some one tell me how to boost the power from the same engine. I'm keen to know about porting, Ex header, head facing, type of park plugs, valve timing etc.

Regards,

Rohitha.
