Question Why no beep when locking doors

After Best Buy installed an aftermarket CD changer on my 01 Jetta, there is no beep when locking the doors. What could have caused this? Best Buy will not take responsibility for it. They said my alarm's brain has gone bad.

The alarm otherwise seems to work OK. The horn works, the panic button works. When locking the doors with the remote, the lights flash and the LED starts blinking, but there is no beep any more.

Re: Why no beep when locking doors

you can set it like that. they must have done something to it. I'd be happy. I've been wanting to get the beep shut off....it sounds...weak.
