Ls/Vtec vs 02 Grand Am

Well its saturday night and me and my friend are out driving around. Happen to see a white 93 hatch. He has exhaust some stock steelies up front and some 17's in the back. We both look at each other and think to ourselves, Hmm I wonder if we can take this otherwise stock looking little hatchback. We follow him for about 5 miles. He hops on route 10 which is a 3 lane highway. We follow hoping to get in some action. Well cruising behind him we notice we are coming up on an s2000.

Well after pulling into the 3rd lane to hopefully partake in some racing action and the s2000 decides he doesnt want any. The hatchback drops gear and takes off and my friend punches the gas at about 50 and we follow. By the time the hatch is in 4th gear hes 6-7 cars away, he keeps on getting it and we back off when we hit the limiter at 105. We catch up again and slow to about 35... (road is empty it was abouit 11 at night) and I roll down the window and ask what motor he was running, he replies ls/vtec. He asks if we want to try again for fun, knowiong hes going to beat us. 3rd honk he drops into gear and we floor it. We pull 1 car on him, until he shifts to 4th and flys back by us. He puts 6-7 car lengths on us instantly after shifting into 4th. All in all it was good race.

Cliffnotes: 02 grand am 4door looses to stock looking hatcback. Hatchback was running an ls trans. Thats what got us the 1 car jump the second race...... Dont use an ls trans wiith an ls/vtec motor.

I take it this wasn't a GT Grand AM with the H.O. 3.4 V6? Cause if it was that's pretty shitty, not that it lost, but that it didn't put up a better fight if it was a GT.
