Check engine light 88 prelude 2.0 S

The check engine light lit up on my Prelude. My car has a 4 speed electronic transmission. Just before the light came on my car started missing real bad when i tried to give it gas. I parked the car for about an hour and the light went out. Also the S3 light lstarted blinking and the speedometer quit working. Anyone have ideas what is going on?

Re: Check engine light 88 prelude 2.0 S

Ok check your oil level. The check engine light will come on if the oil level is dangrously low.

Second, the car sputtering is normal for the 2.0S when it is cool, try no to take it over 2000rpm when it is cold. Or let it warm up fully before driving it.

Your speedo cable could have snapped, or your speed sensor may be faulty.

Good luck,

PS When i had my 88 Lude 2.0S i had these problems to but mine was a 5 speed
