1993 Grand Cherokee-kicked out of overdrive, OD will not work
1993 Grand Cherokee - kicked out of overdrive and cannot get overdrive to work now.

re:dropping out of OD
Mine did this for 4 years, but it would drop back in OD. Finally replaced "transmission output shaft sensor" on back of trans extension housing. $15 at o'rielly's or Daps. Autozone doesn't carry it.
Your prob might be different. Might be OD switch itself. do the following: 1. Turn ign key on,off,on,off,on 2. Count flashes of "check engine" light. It will flash codes with a pause between codes. It will end by flashing 5 times twice. This is end of message code. This Led monitors Engine Control Module(ECM) 3. pull key out, insert again and do same sequence. 4. This time look just below OD switch. An orange LED will flash if you have ANY stored or active TRANSMISSION codes. This Led monitors the Transmission Control Module(TCM) Code 12 on this led indicates the above sensor Hope this helps, Tom Denkler |
