Scored a Hi-lift for Chrismas, so...
Where exactly can I use it on the X? The manual says do not use on curved bumpers. It looks like they have an adaptor that allows you to lift on a curved bumper, but is there enough strength in the bumper to lift with?
I'm guessing the only place that one can really use it is on the sliders... which are now next on my list. I know you can lift with the EOE sliders, but what about the Calmini? Do they stick far enough out? |

I think in order to hi-lift on the calmini, you need to open the door to get close enough. I have JP sliders and I have to open the door to hi-lift on the sliders.

I'm not sure if any of the sliders are better than other for lifting. But, which ever ones you use, be careful. I saw a post somewhere in which the Hi Lift put a nice ding in the door. I guess the weight shifted or something. Maybe someone else can remember the details.

Sort of related......
Santa left this for me while I was in Vegas! It hooks to your ARB were everyone is hooking there shackles. I'll try and use it this weekend. Toe Jam has seen me Hi-Lift off my EOE sliders with about oan inch of clearance from the closed doors.

My new "Louis Sliderz" were designed to have 2 inches of clearance for highlift...2x4 1/4 tube steel baby rock solid. We are planning to make a bunch and shoot them off to who ever wants a pair. From my judgement they are factory quality and about half price....stay tuned

He is not to get rich of this, just cover the cost and perhaps have enough left over for gas returning. He is a welder with 30 years of welding experience behind him specializing in farm equipment. You should have seen his face when i rolled into his shop in my 29K(Canadian) X and told him the sliderz would be used for protection while doing medium hardcore off roading. The shop is every mans dream all the tools you can imagine, I played around with his industrial plasmacutter...nice toy ! C |
