1996 750il dash
Many of the pixels (for lack of better word) on the instrument panel have gone out. Information and warnings displayed and even the mileage are very difficult to read. Can this be cheaply repaired/replaced without replacing the entire panel?

Pixels going bad is a widespread phenomenon. You can expect to pay around 500 parts and labor if you opt to just replace it.
BMW has created a sort of secret warranty for the displays that not too terribly many people know about. You can read more about that here - http://bimmer.roadfly.org/bmw/forums...3427368&page=2 I haven't followed this route yet so I cant speak from experience how well it works - I've seen quite a few people say that everything was handled very smoothly. |

Re: 1996 750il dash
I don't think so - BMWNA is paying the dealership that does the work for the part so the dealership wont care whether you bought it from them or not, and BMWNA is only doing it to avoid litigation it seems so it shouldn't matter where you got it. At least that's my hope since I didnt get mine from a bimmer dealer.
