Unhappy Help 96 chevy bretta

My 96 bretta is giving me a fit. The 3rd brake light in the rear window will light when the brakes are applied but the left and right brake lights wont. The Turn signal/Hazard flasher/running lights all work ok but can not get the brake lights to work.
I have replaced the brake light switch but didn't work. I think it might be the turn/hazard switch but would like to know before I have to tear to deep into it.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you in advance.

brake lights

Try replacing the bulbs in the rear with proper dual filament bulbs. or see if they are burned out in the first place.

Thanks Crackerman, I have checked it. The do work when they want to which isn't very often. The turn sig and Hazard flasher both work and they use the same side of the bulb.

Thanks again
