Need help with 1990 300zx 2+2 N/A

I have just puchased a 1990 300zx 2+2 N/A, from and old lady, she said there were few things wrong with it. First she said there was something wrong with the starter harness or electrical harness, she doesn't remember which is which. She also said, there were electrical shorts happenening, so i was wondering if anyone could help me figure out where most of the short could possibly occur at, and what an electrical or starter harness is, because this is my first purchase of a Z car, and i am clueless when comes to this car, but i love it...Thank you anyone who helps, your input is well appreciated!
