too off spark plug wire cover to find oil

hey guys i took off my spark plug wire cover to find a puddle of oil there. i have it an oil change cleaned up the little puddle only to find it came back a few days later??? help, can anyone tell me whats wrong?

while it could be a couple of things you could have a bad oil cap. the seal coild be bad you could have fried piston rings and oil is coming up threw your spark pluge or you could have a oil leak some whare that is shooting all over and making a puddle so look around and find out where it is coming from

Oil will never come up through the spark plug. If there was that much in the combustion chamber anyway, the motor wouldnt run The oil cap suggestion was a very good one. Thats almost always it. Also common is the 4 individual valve cover gaskets that go around the sprk plug wells, of the oil is in the wells, and not just on top. The next possibilty is a crack in the valve cover, which isnt too uncommon since poeple love to over torque the VC bolts (spec is 2-3 ft-lbs!)

i had the exact same problem, so i ordered a valve cover gasket with spark well gaskets and my problem was fixed rigth away. I got mine from autozone for about $30.
