Unhappy My Golf is dieing please help

please help. i just changed the starter and the altanator on my 86 golf, But the battery light is still on and it wont start. i had the alt., starter, and the batt. tested but they all test good. Everything is hooked up ok. Strangely enough i can push start it but thats all please help.

2/earth on chassis ~engine.
