1998 Camry LE - Stock Alarm

My 1998 Camry has a stock alarm that was installed by the dealer. Initially, it was programmed to not "chirp" when it is set, only flash the lights. I would like to somehow reverse this so I can get the chirp or short horn blast. Is there any way to do this without taking it in to a shop or back to the dealership?

Thanks.

I have a 97 with a VIP RS 3000--instructions say to turn it off: insert the key in the ingnition and turn it to "ON" not "ACC". Using 1 remont, press and hold BOTH buttons at the same time for over 2 seconds, until the Status Monitor LED turns on. You must perform the next steps in 30 seconds. Press and release the bottom REMOTE CONTROL BUTTON once. (it chirps once). Turn the ignition switch to the "lock" position. (it chirps 3 times) hope works! Mark

See the above reply, (on the last part of the instruction) only press and release the bottom remote control button twice instead of once.Sorry--Mark

Thanks!

Mark, thanks a million! It worked just like you said! I thought I was going to have to pay the dealer $60 to do what took me ten seconds!

Thanks again,

Daniel

Re: 1998 Camry LE - Stock Alarm

Do you have a manual for the alarm? I was wondering if I could get a short blast of the horn when I set it, in adition or instead of the chirp.

Thanks.
