Re: Does thhe tornado rally make a difference??

I saw a test one of the car magazines did on it they even ran the car on the dyno and the end result was that the fuel economy was unchanged and the hp was slightly less with the tornado installed. Which makes sence when you think about it as the theory behind the whole thing is flawed anyone who says that it makes a difference has their heads in the clouds

Re: Does thhe tornado rally make a difference??

cool, i didnt really think it made sense either, how the hell could spinning air move faster than air moving in a strait line? Im thinkiong about getting a k and n filter for my truck, does it make much difference as far as throttle response?

and i was thinking about removing the pipe that draws hot air of the engine into the intake and sealing up the hole on the intake. is this ok, and do i just leave the other end open?
thanks for any help
Wade

what year and engine size do you have chevywade? I have been considering the same modification you mentioned in the second half of your last reply, I really wish someone with a litte more knowledge about that would reply, cause I am pretty curious also.

Check in the earlier posts i believe it is about TB's or EGR's. but if you referring to the EGR assembly there was a whole thread with "more knowledge" about this mod. Check it out.

Re: Does thhe tornado rally make a difference??

are u sure, mines an 89. but i dont know crap about cars. i was lookin at my intake more closely today and i noticed a butterfly valve that is held closed by a spring. it is connected to a duct that runs down and draws heat off of the exhaust, and i cant figure out why the hell they would put that on there. any ideas?

its a heatriser for those cold mornings........it diverts warm air off the exhaustmanifold to your breather untill the motor warms up
