What do you all think?
That, or a Dart block ($10K) that you still gotta spend money on to complete? |

sounds sketchy... "unmentionable speed secrets" come on.
sounds like all they are doing is stroking a B series engine, and if that the case i've heard that its not the best thing to do. I'm a little concered as to how they are getting 2.4 liter displacement out of a B? even 2.0 is making sidewalls thin? if they are getting 2.4 from stroking then i would say that that is downright dangerous with such a long stroke and you may have some holes in the block soon. I dunno maybe i'm wrong, i would wait till some other responses come in. if you do go that way let me know when the engine hits 100,000 then i'll get one also

yeah but the H is different block altogether.
A B can't handle more than 2.0 as far as I know?

Re: I think I found a cheaper alternative to my dream engine...
I bet a B block can handle 2.2 (it's probably more like 2140 cc or what ever the measurement is) - They sell tuned D series' too - now those I don't think will handle more then 2.0 because it's a thinner block isn't it because it only has a single overhead cam and wouldn't need to be as wide.
I should email them and ask them if they come with any kind of warranty. I already emailed them and asked them how much torque they produce, But I probably won't hear back from them until at least Monday. If you want to wait for me to hit 100,000 it's gonna be a while. I still gotta pay $1,803 to pay the rest of the balance of my car off before I even look to drop an engine in. The thing that I like about these is the fact that it's a brand new engine with no miles on it or at least I'm pretty sure they don't have any miles on them. I'll also ask them about that when I email them again in about 5 minutes. As soon as I get some answers back, I'll post them on here. |

See, they don't make the D series' bigger then 2.0 liters.

Re: I think I found a cheaper alternative to my dream engine...
Don't they still gotta be sleeved?
maybe once it's sleeved, the outer walls of the block don't have to be that thick - it's just gotta be sturdy enough to keep the sleeves secure. |

Re: I think I found a cheaper alternative to my dream engine...
Apparently they do care about reliability with the K series. They only make up to 2.5 liter blocks for the K series.

Re: Re: I think I found a cheaper alternative to my dream engine...
There's a guy on here who had Spoon stroke his 1.6 to a 2.1 but I forget who he is. About that website, it does sound a little sketchy. Call me skeptical but if I'm going to buy an engine I'd want a stock one with stock Honda specs, then work it up my way.

Re: I think I found a cheaper alternative to my dream engine...
Ok, I finally heard back from them today - I just cut and pasted what they had to say:
Hello a long block is an engine from valve cover to oil pan does not include intake manifold or exhaust manifold, the 2.2 b series would cost $7800.00 outright, the torque to the wheel is 150 to 160 ftlb no you will still be able to run your ac and power steering. Thanks for the inquiry |

last time I checked the definition of a long block was a engine without any tin work... in other words no valve cover or oil pan either.

Apparently it's becoming more and more popular to do.

Re: I think I found a cheaper alternative to my dream engine...
I was the one buying a 2.1 custom spoon stroker (they didn't want to make one this big, but U.S. money in Japan speakes for itself, especially $1900+a damn $320 shipping charge). I just got it 3 days ago, but I am waiting for time to install it. I will let you guys know.
