Toyota GT-1 (Big picture)

This is a delayed in progress report as the kit is now nearly finished! I'll post more pics of the build when I actually take them. This 'large' pic is as the car was 3 months or so ago. So, this thread should now get me off my ass to finish it!

Anyway, the kit is box stock except for SMS templated carbon decals and the seatbelts.

Constructive criticism please. BTW, the right hand floor is now carbon so it looks like the other side.

Got rid of Image Station, Followed the P-Man to imagebucket, Hope this works!

This one is even more delayed now, it was hidden away in a box on a six foot high shelf so the cats couldn't get to it and, you guessed it, the cat jumped up, landed on the box, flipped it off the shelf and smashed it to pieces, gotta love them animals!!!

Stay tuned though, I will finish it!!

Enjoy, and, as always constructive criticism is welcomed.

Re: Toyota GT-1 (Big picture)

I see nothing I could criticise... Decals are perfectly applied, the paintjob is perfectly clean too!...
Go on like that! It will surely look like a contest-winner when finished!

What size monitor you running there Willster? The pics are way too big for mine. Bloody nice though!

Re: Toyota GT-1 (Big picture)

Looks great! One question: What did you use to paint the engine block (or tranny?)? Looks like some sort of dirty silver color. AlcladII?

Re: Toyota GT-1 (Big picture)

The engine/trans is painted with a humbrol metalcote, I forget which one, I think it was polished steel! I know they wouldn't really be steel but the modern coatings on castings sometimes have a greyish steel look to them. It's also a great paint in that it only polishes where you do so it almost shades itself.

As for the pic sizes, I really need to try and size them down, what is a good size???????

On about downsizing, Keep a look out for my next project, Tameo Ferrari 312T3 1:43 scale!

Re: Toyota GT-1 (Big picture)

One other question...are the orange coil springs in the engine bay scratch built, or are you just a really good painter?
