2004 Grand Prix GTP Comp G!...CRAP!

I love the new pontiac commericals for the gtp...with samuel l jackson. they are so unspecific. notice that he says the 'largest' v6 in its class, with no mention of its horsepower...outgunned by the nissan maxima. im so sorry fellas, but i can not stand this car. a 3.8 liter engine....SUPERCHARGED....puts out a whopping 260 hp? that a joke? and typical pontiac build quality just makes it so much more attractive (sarcasm). maybe if GM wasnt a pile of boneheads, they'd think of putting the straight 6 vortec motor in the trailblazer in a car. but no, they continue to use that archaic and silly weak 3.8 liter crap motor.

95...yeah 1995 nissan maxima se 5sp....0-60 in 6.6sec .81 on the skidpad ($6500)
04 gtp 0-60 in 6.6sec .80 on the skidpad. ($25000)

dont even bring comfort, sound systems, reliability, resale value into this. this may seem like an out and out hateful post.......and it is. long live imports.

Seenish

Get your numbers right.
04 Pontiac GTP, Comp G .827g
04 Maxima .822g
04 GTP Road course lap time 43.328
04 Maxima 44.469 sec even concorde lxi beat the maxima
04 GTP Comp g 1/4 mile 15.015
04 Maxima 15.496 The lame Accord beat the Maxima
04 GTP Comp G braking 60-0 112.3 ft
04 Maxima 120.5, also beaten by the Concorde LXi, Sebring LXi, Accord and get this, Camry XLE, the Galant, Passat, Hyundai XGT 350 (WOW)
04 GTP Comp G 600 ft slalom mph 100.53
04 Maxima 98.59 beat out also by SEBRING LXI
So, are you telling me the Nissans are getting worse or is your ugly (Intrepid owners agree) Maxima just so heavily moded to get the power of a stock GTP, without mods and a warranty to boot.
Get a life and cry that you cannot afford a brand new GTP Comp G

BTW, I considered a Maxima but at a 6.9% lease rate compared to 2.5 GTP, hands down on the GTP. The Maxima wasn't worth the extra $150.00/month

Re: 2004 Grand Prix GTP Comp G!...CRAP!

Sean...You need to drive a GTP.. I don't care what the power ratings are, the GTP feels like a rocket under your right foot.. Quick acceleration in GTP's take finess, cause they will light the front tires up in a flash.. And the first time I tried to beat a yellow light, the torque hit so hard that it snapped my head back.. I shot through the intersection staring at the ceiling..

My old man has a 2004 Maxima, and it doesn't feel anything like that...Nothing at all..

Well, I think imports are crap. Let's put nitrous and turbos on to get 200 horse, spend $3000 on a $500 car. We all work in the UNITED STATES, not japan!

Well, there are some pretty nice imports out there. But like you said, there are the imports that people buy where their rims are worth more than the car.

You're right, it is a hateful thread and is disrespectful to the members who post in this forum and who enjoy their vehicles. Not only that but it is just going to stir up dust and create a fight that is not needed; unless you have something useful or informative or interesting, please keep your hate posts out of the forum as they are not wanted. Thread closed.
