x-pipe vs h-pipe

Just a little curious on what people like better on their mustangs, the X-PIPE or the H-PIPE. Personally im undecided right now seeing that i have used both, but im just curious on the differences in them and what most people run on their stangs...

Re: x-pipe vs h-pipe

X-pipes are better because air can flow easier, but most people probably have H pipes since that is what comes on GT's and above.

The power difference between the two is so small you would never feel it on a sub-400hp N/A engine. Even then it would probably be less than 10hp. Usually people get X pipes because of the sound difference and drone reduction with aftermarket exhaust.

Re: x-pipe vs h-pipe

I gained 14whp going from a O/R H-pipe to a O/R X-pipe on my 94 stang (Paxton blown 306). The difference for N/A motors is only a couple small #'s.

Re: x-pipe vs h-pipe

Matter of preference. Sound slightly different with x- being more exotic and h more rumble or big block.
Gains similiar on both these days
